JING, THE GASTRONOMY EXPERIENCE PART 1
Kriston Kitchen, and The Arts House at The Old Parliament, Singapore
September 24th – 27th, 2009
JING: the premiere of a visually stunning and gripping fashion-in-theatre work that brings together fashion from Beijing, upcoming talents from the Shanghai modelling scene, respected theatre practitioners from Singapore and renowned chefs from the region. Inspired by the works of renowned 20th century French philosopher Michel Foucault and using lingerie as a metaphor, JING is an original work performed by new faces in the modelling scene from the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts and will introduce to Singapore for the first time the designs of leading Beijing lingerie company Aimer Group. Devised by well-known Singapore theatre director Jeremiah Choy and produced by the multi-talented artiste Jiu Jian, JING aims to provoke, evoke and liberate the mind from what appears to be inevitable concepts and practices.
This multi-disciplinary production will also include a gastronomy experience with specially prepared cuisine by leading chefs from around Asia.
